Glazing
When selecting the glazing for your framing project, several important factors come into play, such as the level of UV protection needed, whether anti-reflective glazing is desired, if a plastic glazing option is preferred for added safety and peace of mind, and of course, your budget.
Consider the artwork’s monetary and sentimental value, as well as the materials and mediums used in the piece.
We are committed to providing expert advice to help you choose the most suitable glazing solution for your framing needs.
Standard “float” glass
This is a common and affordable option, but it has no anti-reflective quality, therefore it can potentially impact the clarity of the image.
Anti-reflective AR70
Anti-reflective glass is a premium glazing option that protects your artwork while appearing almost invisible. Our Artglass AR70 uses low-iron glass with a special coating that reduces reflection to less than 1%, ensuring true colours and stunning clarity. Most customers have to touch the glass to believe it’s there.

UV protective
UV-protective glazing blocks up to 99% of ultraviolet rays, helping to shield artworks from fading and degradation caused by UV exposure. This special glass serves as a barrier that either reflects or absorbs UV light, ensuring artworks are protected from damage.
Exposure to artificial light, particularly when it is prolonged or unusually bright, may result in substantial harm to artwork, causing colours to fade, materials to lose strength, and surfaces to discolour. Such damage accumulates over time and cannot be reversed.
Museum Glass
Our AR99 museum glass delivers the ultimate in UV protection along with outstanding anti-reflective properties.
It is an ideal choice for framing valuable artworks or items with significant sentimental value.
Acrylic Glazing
We suggest using acrylic glazing in busy or public spaces, for especially large artworks, for collections that are frequently relocated and for pieces which may be in danger from high flying toys in a family home!
Our acrylic glazing options include standard thicknesses of 2mm, 3mm, and 5mm, along with 3mm and 5mm versions that offer full UV protection. At the pinnacle of our acrylic selection is a museum-grade glazing that is anti-reflective, scratch-resistant, and anti-static—combining the advantages of both glass and acrylic to give your artwork the highest level of UV protection.
