Wood Frames

We offer an extensive selection of wood frames, which represent a significant portion of the frames we've crafted over the years. With countless shapes, colours, and sizes available, your options are virtually limitless.

• Standard white and black box frames, with a matt smooth finish or with a soft wood grain, available in a multitude of widths and depths.

• Natural wood tones such as oak, walnut and wenge, just to name a few, available in solid wood or as a veneer which gives a more consistent finish.

• High gloss finishes in white, black and metallics, for a particularly modern and sleek design led look.

• Classical ornate profiles adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the frame, available in a comprehensive range of finishes.

• Coloured frames, all the way through the colour spectrum, available in bright neon finishes through to the more subtle pastel tones.

• Metallic finish frames available in aged, brushed and polished gold & silver. Gun metal, bronze & copper finish frames, all in a wide selection of profiles.

Aluminium Frames

Our aluminium frames are made in Germany by Nielsen Bainbridge, a leading name in aluminium framing for more than 35 years. Thanks to their clean and streamlined design, these frames offer an understated and elegant way to display your pictures. They’re available in many colours, finishes, widths, and depths, offering both simplicity and plenty of choice.

Perspex Box Frames

If you’re looking for a sleek, modern framing option, our custom-made Perspex box frames are the ideal choice. Each frame is built to your specifications using UV-protective 3mm or 5mm acrylic, with options for black, white, or 10mm clear acrylic backing.

Our contemporary Perspex boxes can be created to any depth, making them perfect for displaying canvases, wood, metal pieces, or larger three-dimensional objects—while allowing for a full view from every angle.

Coloured acrylic sides are also available, so we can highlight a specific colour from your artwork.

Cambridge Framing Centre offer canvas stretches for artists as well a re strecthing canvases

Canvas Stretchers

A canvas stretcher frame is a simple wooden framework over which the canvas is pulled tight and fastened, keeping it smooth and taut for display.

Typically constructed from kiln-dried timber to prevent warping, these frames often include adjustable corners for extra tension on larger pieces and crossbars for added strength.

Once your canvas has been stretched, it can be shown in a variety of styles—left unframed for a clean, minimalist look, set within a classic rebated frame that covers the canvas edges, or mounted in a tray frame for a modern floating effect.

Tray Frames

Our canvas tray “floater” frames provide a sleek, minimalist way to showcase stretched canvas artworks, leaving the edges visible and unobstructed.

These frames are used when the artwork doesn’t need glazing and are not limited to canvas—they also work beautifully with pieces on wood panels, acrylic, and dibond.

Tray frames feature a slim front profile, usually between 5–20mm, and are available in standard finishes such as black, white, metallic, or natural wood.

Additionally, we offer a custom spraying service for these frames, enabling us to match any RAL or Pantone colour.

Handmade Decorative
Frames

We partner with a UK-based company that has specialised in crafting both modern and traditional handmade frames for over forty years. Every frame is custom-built and finished by hand, ensuring each one is unique.

Our range offers both contemporary styles and beautifully detailed period designs—including Victorian, Regency, Neo-Classical, Art Deco, Nouveau, and Swept Frames—made using hundreds of genuine 18th-century box moulds.

With over 20 different profiles and a variety of finishes such as silver and gold leaf, burnished gilt, impressionist pastels, numerous paint colours, and a selection of colour washes, your framing options are truly limitless.
